Leave Room for God.

I hope the ending of this month meets you with renewed courage, clear vision and a dream or purpose that ignites your soul.

I've had what feels like a slow roll into the new year and was feeling a little self-judgy about it. But, upon review of my January calendar, I quickly realize that I've mistaken a slow groove for lack of meaningful productivity. Any one else ever make this false equivalent?

This month, I've applied to two more TV/Filmmaker fellowships, I've helped cast a multi-generational family of 10 (!) in a national commercial, my partner and I were ALSO cast and filmed in a national commercial, I've booked an upcoming trip to see my track-star niece run in a championship meet for Southern University, I've finally taken care of my car troubles (Sly - my 2007 Civic - is rolling strong but at 17 years old, has been begging for attention!), I've pled my case in person at a parking violation citation hearing (you can imagine how fun that was) and I've persevered through the hellish bureaucracy of the medical insurance complex while my allergies (and accompanying hives and eczema) are trying to bring me down. They're tryina bring me down, man!

But why am I sharing all of this with you?

One, because I'm an over-sharer. Deal with it.

Two, because I want you to know that with all our doing, Spirit is doing more.

Case in point: I've had very little resource to promote The 5-Point Compass Podcast.

And YET, we have more-than doubled our listeners! *tears*

Look at God!

With 400+ streams since its release two months ago, the podcast episodes are making their rounds at about 15 streams per day. While some may find that number laughable, and external models of success wouldn't even recognize these numbers as worthy of mention, I, the independent artist who worked diligently at conceiving, writing, re-writing, recording and co-producing ten entire episodes, *I* deeply value every single stream!

I, along with my producer-in-crime David Tam, deeply appreciate every single person who has taken the time to give our little podcast (among 5 million podcasts!) a chance.

I've felt so guilty, beating myself up even, for neglecting the promotion of the show when all along, you all were still streaming, still sharing and others were still finding their way to it - and listening to multiple episodes!

So it makes sense that Spirit - the 4th point of our 5-Point Compass - whispered these words to me the other day:

"Leave room for God."

I shook my head and laughed.

Meaningful productivity doesn't have to be hard, it doesn't have to be forced, and it's not done alone.

Artists, Creatives, Hyphenates and beyond -

We are not doing the work alone.

It is not solely on us and our team to move the needle forward.

As visionary and empowered and disciplined as we may be, the outcomes we see are not solely based on *our* efforts.

To believe otherwise is to miss out on the magic.

I pushed the podcast for a month and got over 200 streams.

I went silent for a month and got *another* 200+ streams.

"Leave room for God."

Do the work that is yours to do, and leave room for God (whichever higher power(s) you believe in).

When you're maxed out, overwhelmed or can't tackle one more task or call, leave room for God.

When you're showing up, showing out, but the results don't seem to mirror your effort, leave room for God.

Not only are people speaking highly of you in rooms you have yet to enter, but Spirit is preparing the way for you; the way for you to expand and excel and ascend; the way for your work to maximize its reach and potential.

No beating yourself up. Give yourself the time, space and grace to handle what matters right now, and leave room for God.

Know that the other stuff is being moved, solved, fixed and steered on your behalf.

Not only am I sharing the word *I* received from my own Compass in case it might resonate, but I'm sharing to remind you to tune into your own 5-Point Compass - your heart, gut, Spirit, the universe and the ancestors - for your own personalized messages on your journey ever forward.

May we each have a beautiful, intentional, light-filled end-of-the-month, and a Spirit-driven February and beyond.

Ever Forward,

~DelinaDream
